The Full Story

My passion for theatre and art began at a young age, but the moment it crystallized was when I saw a school production of Les Misérables at a friend’s school — a school I couldn’t afford to attend. Sitting in that audience, I remember thinking, I want to do this for the rest of my life.

Years later, while studying Radio and Television, I decided to create a documentary on musical theatre in Egypt for my graduation project. I wanted to return to that same school to film — but after being denied access, my search led me to discover Fabrica, Egypt’s first musical theatre company. I went in to film. I stayed to train. And later, to direct.

That experience changed everything. I realized I didn’t want to stay behind the camera — I wanted to be part of the art. I immersed myself in performance and direction, eventually becoming a prominent member of the company. In a beautiful full-circle moment, I not only starred in numbers from Les Misérables, but went on to direct a full-length production of it in Egyptian Arabic. Some of the cast included well-known singers — and even a few of them had directed my very first performance at Fabrica.

Through this journey, I’ve trained in classical and contemporary performance methods, physical theatre, musical theatre, devised work, and voice. I’ve honed my skills as a performer, director, movement artist, and creative storyteller. My work spans both stage and screen, with a deep belief in storytelling that moves, heals, and provokes thought.

Whether I’m performing, directing, or creating, I strive to build meaningful work that bridges cultures, stirs the heart, and reminds us what it means to be human.

With a dual academic background in Musical Theatre and Mass Communication, I bring together the emotional depth of performance with the clarity and structure of visual storytelling. Over the years, I’ve had the joy of portraying vibrant characters in musical theatre, voicing animated icons, and directing both stage productions and music videos that reimagine classics in fresh, culturally rooted ways.

My performance credits include The Lightning Thief, Merrily We Roll Along, The Theory of Relativity, and Little Women. I voiced characters in the Arabic adaptation of Alvin & the Chipmunks and other media projects.

As a director, I’ve worked extensively with Fabrica, Egypt’s first musical theatre company. I’ve directed a full-length Arabic production of Les Misérables and contributed to Arabic-language adaptations of Chicago, Fiddler on the Roof, and Shrek, blending Western musical theatre with Egyptian culture.

I’m a high tenor (F2–C6 / D5 in belt), fluent in Arabic and English, and trained in jazz, contemporary, and ballet dance. I continue to perform and direct across Egypt and the UAE, contributing to live events and creative projects in the region.
